What is the reward of the teacher with Allah, and is it true that one sitting of knowledge is equivalent to sixty years of worship?

The teacher has a great reward and virtue, and it is sufficient for him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent as a teacher. He preferred gatherings of knowledge over gatherings for reciting the Qur'an and making supplications. The Prophet mentioned the virtue of the one who teaches people good, and that Allah, His angels, and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth invoke blessings upon him. He also explained that scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, and that the superiority of a scholar over a worshipper is like the superiority of the moon on a full moon night over all other planets, and that the prophets bequeathed knowledge. Islam has elevated the status of knowledge and scholars in general, especially the religious sciences. However, regarding the preference of a single scholarly gathering over sixty years of worship, there is no textual evidence for this.
