The ruling on intercourse and her prayers during the two days depends on the ruling regarding yellowish and brownish discharges (ṣufrah and kudrah) before blood appears. Scholars have differed on this matter. Some, like Ibn 'Uthaymin, do not consider them menstruation. Others consider them menstruation if they occur during the possible time for menstruation, which is the view of the majority of scholars. A woman is permitted to follow whichever opinion she chooses. Since the woman's action was in accordance with the opinion of those who do not consider yellowish and brownish discharges to be menstruation, there is no blame upon her, her prayers are valid, and there is no sin upon her for intercourse.
