What is the ruling on the inheritance of the sons and daughters of my deceased daughter who passed away during her mother's lifetime?

The deceased's estate is divided only among the living heirs, and the grandchildren whose father passed away before the grandmother receive nothing. If the deceased had no heirs other than her son and two daughters, the inheritance is divided among them, with the male receiving the share of two females, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."

It is recommended for the heirs to give the grandchildren something from the inheritance if it is substantial, as the Almighty said: "And when [other] relatives and orphans and the needy are present at the time of division, then provide for them from it and speak to them words of kindness."

The distribution of inheritances is a sensitive and complex matter, and a mere fatwa is insufficient. Rather, it must be referred to the Sharia courts for precise investigation, as there may be other heirs, bequests, or debts that take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
