Land bought without a definitive intention for trade is not subject to zakat. Likewise, whoever buys something with a hesitant intention does not pay zakat on it. As for inherited money, zakat is due on it if it reaches the nisab as soon as it enters the heir's possession, and its zakat must be paid for past years if it has not been paid.
