Breaking the fast in Ramadan without a valid excuse is a major sin and a grave transgression. The one who commits it must repent and make up the missed days. The wife must advise her husband regarding breaking the fast, and she is not permitted to leave the house except with his permission. It is not permissible for her to prepare food for him during the fasting hours unless she fears harm from him. If the husband insists on breaking the fast, the wife should seek a divorce due to his weak religiosity. Disparaging the wife is forbidden because it is a denigration of Allah's creation, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it.
