Is it permissible to give zakat to humanitarian organizations that care for the affairs of displaced persons and refugees from conflict zones, especially with thousands of displaced families arriving at the camps?

It is impermissible to give zakat except to the eight categories mentioned in the Quran. It is permissible to authorize organizations to deliver zakat to the deserving, provided they are trustworthy and deliver the zakat to its rightful recipients according to Islamic law. However, it is preferable for the zakat payer to distribute their zakat themselves. If the organization purchases tangible goods with zakat funds, such as food and medicine, to be owned by the beneficiaries, some jurists have permitted it if it serves the poor person's interest. However, purchasing materials that are not to be owned by the beneficiaries, such as an ambulance, is not permissible from zakat funds.
