Sheikh Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani did not claim the existence of explicit prophecies bearing the name of Prophet Muhammad in the current versions of the Torah. Rather, he pointed to the historical affirmation of these phrases by priests who converted to Islam or by Muslim scholars who debated with rabbis. He mentioned that the name of Prophet Muhammad was clearly present in the books of the Jews and Christians throughout history, citing texts from the Book of Isaiah and Habakkuk, which were mentioned by Ali ibn Rabban al-Tabari, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim, and others. Al-Zindani added that Hebrew versions of the Torah still clearly and explicitly bear the name Muhammad to this day, citing what is mentioned in the Song of Songs in the Torah, chapter five, verse sixteen: "חִכּוֹ מַמְתַקִּים וְכֻלּוֹ מַחֲמַדִּים זֶה דוֹדִי וְזֶה רֵעִי" (Hikko Mamtaqqim vekhullo Muhammadim zeh Dodi vezeh Re'i), meaning "His mouth is most sweet, and he is altogether lovely (Muhammadim). This is my beloved, and this is my friend." He clarified that the Hebrew word mentions the name Muhammad and appends "im" for magnification. Despite the distortion of the Torah and the Gospel, the Qur'an affirmed the presence of prophecies concerning Muhammad, peace be upon him, in them.
