Is it to be understood from the Almighty’s saying: "But as for him who withholds and deems himself free of need, and denies the best, We will surely ease him toward difficulty," that the difficulties in the affairs of a 24-year-old young man, who fasts, prays, and strives for sincerity in his acts of worship, yet has not had a matter he pursued for two months facilitated for him, and is unable to give charity or zakat; mean that his deeds have not been accepted?

The verse mentioned has no relation to worldly hardship. The verse was revealed concerning those who disbelieved and denied the Hereafter, and were miserly with their wealth. The word "al-Usra" (hardship) in it means Hellfire or the path of evil. Thus, it does not refer to the obstruction of worldly affairs. Rather, a believer may be tested in this world, and a disbeliever may be granted worldly enjoyments as a means of gradual enticement. Therefore, do not let obsessive thoughts overcome you. Seek help from Allah, strive for what benefits you, and be diligent in supplication.
