Is it permissible for a student to neglect the affairs of their family, homeland, and religion in order to focus on studying and succeeding?

Perhaps the school, by encouraging students to devote themselves to knowledge, intended to emphasize its importance, without neglecting religious matters or family affairs, for religion is the Muslim's most valuable asset. If one finds someone to take care of their family and homeland, then there is no harm in dedicating oneself to knowledge. Otherwise, one should balance devotion to knowledge with other duties, as the predecessors did, such as Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, who alternated descending to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with his neighbor.
