What is the ruling on working to write and publish Islamic and general cultural articles on websites for a fee?

There is no harm in this work if the writer adheres to the limits set by Allah Almighty, and does not write or publish anything that is forbidden to him by religious law. The basic principle regarding actions and professions is permissibility, and nothing is prohibited except what the religious law has indicated to be forbidden.
