Does the person who persisted in heinous sins, knowing their حرمة (prohibition), and feared God's wrath while committing them, then repented and resolved not to return to them, yet is still afraid of disgrace and God's retribution upon himself or his family—does this person fall under the saying: "Indeed, God grants respite but does not neglect"?

Whoever repents with a sincere repentance that fulfills the conditions, Allah will accept his repentance and erase the effect of the sin from him. Indeed, one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin, and the penitent does not deserve punishment. Allah Almighty says: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins and knows what you do." And Allah Almighty says: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
