The answer

If reaching the mosque is extremely difficult due to excessive obesity, then one may be excused from attending congregational prayers at the mosque. Some scholars have considered extreme obesity a valid excuse for this, as mentioned by Al-Khatib Al-Shirbini. Nevertheless, one must be diligent in performing prayers in congregation at home, as congregational prayer is obligatory for adult men, and it is not a condition to perform it in the mosque, according to the preponderant and authoritative opinion.
