What is the ruling on selling an inheritance and dividing it if one of the heirs refuses to sell?

Your father's share of his father's inheritance does not lapse with his death; rather, it transfers to his heirs. If he bequeathed his share to some of his heirs to the exclusion of others, his will is forbidden and legally void. His share then belongs to all heirs and is divided among them according to Islamic law.
