Is there a sin in killing a bothersome dog that does not stop barking at night?

If the dog is not among those for which the Sharia has granted a dispensation—such as for hunting or guarding—then in principle, it is permissible to kill it. However, you do not have the right to kill it, because doing so might lead to greater harm. We advise you to report the matter to the responsible authorities.

However, if it is among those for which the Sharia has granted a dispensation, then it is not permissible to kill it, and its owner must remove its harm from his neighbors, due to the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm," and harm should be removed.

We remind you that being good to one's neighbor is a religious requirement, and this includes advising them and enduring their annoyance.
