Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) err by prohibiting honey, which necessitated the revelation of Surat At-Tahrim, knowing his infallibility from error?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not err in forbidding honey upon himself; rather, he did so believing it had an odor, and he was keen that only a pleasant scent emanate from him for his communion with his Lord and the angels. Describing this as an error is a lack of decorum. The verse was revealed as a reprimand for him for restricting himself by forbidding what Allah had made lawful for him, and this reprimand was an honor for him. Ibn Hajar mentioned that the Prophet (peace be upon him) disliked any unpleasant odor emanating from him because the angel would come to him.
