Did the Messenger, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, put honey on the hair of his head for its beauty?

It is true that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, matted his hair when entering ihram for Hajj. Matting (talbid) means that the muhrim (pilgrim in ihram) puts something like gum on his head to keep his hair from becoming disheveled and unruly. However, there is no report that he did this merely to beautify his hair.
