How did the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, lengthen his hair from the back even though it reached his earlobes?

The Prophet's hair, peace and blessings be upon him, was above the 'jummah' (hair reaching the earlobes) and below the 'wafrah' (hair reaching the shoulders). His 'jummah' reached his earlobes, and when it grew long, he would braid it into four plaits. There is no explicit text clarifying what he did with the hair at the back of his head, but it appears it was of equal length. He honored his hair, oiled it, and combed it. It is confirmed that he shaved all his hair during the rituals of Hajj or Umrah. He forbade shaving part of the hair and leaving part of it, saying: "Shave all of it or leave all of it." A Muslim has the choice between shaving his hair or leaving it, and this is among the innate practices (sunan jibaliyyah) for which there is no blame in doing or not doing.
