Why did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wear his hair long?

Leaving the hair of the head and honoring it is a Sunnah from the customs, and keeping it is better than removing it. This is indicated by the saying of Imam Ahmad: "It is a good Sunnah, if we could, we would adopt it." It is desirable for the hair to be long enough to reach the shoulders if it is long, and to the earlobes if it is short, and it is desirable to part the hair. The Sunnahs of customs do not require justification.
