The answer

There is no text stating that there is praiseworthy waswasah (whispering/obsessive thoughts). What was reported in Muslim, on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), is that the Companions complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about what they found within themselves, which they considered too grave to speak of. He responded, "That is pure faith." This does not mean that the waswasah itself is praiseworthy; rather, it means that their dislike, hatred, and aversion to these waswasah are pure faith, because pure faith prevents the acceptance of what Satan casts. It was also reported in another that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said when they complained, "Praise be to Allah who reduced his (Satan's) plot to waswasah."
