What is the legal evidence for the importance of worldly knowledge, and is it necessary to overcome humiliation after returning to religion?

The religion of Islam commands the adoption of everything that benefits the Ummah in this world and the hereafter. This includes learning beneficial worldly sciences for the Ummah, such as modern industries and technologies, due to their role in achieving strength and honor for Muslims. Learning these sciences is among the Furood al-Kifayat (communal obligations) that are incumbent upon the Ummah. Therefore, the Ummah's return to its religion necessitates embracing all worldly sciences that elevate its status, through which it can establish Allah's religion and organize its affairs.
