What should one who feels wronged and oppressed do for God to grant him victory, and what are the answered supplications for victory?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is the right of the oppressed to strive to lift oppression through legitimate means, using both material and moral resources. The most important of these is turning to Allah through remembrance, supplication, and seeking forgiveness. Allah Almighty said: "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then I am indeed near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me, that they may be guided" (Al-Baqarah: 186). And He said: "And your Lord said, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you'" (Ghafir: 60). Whoever persistently seeks forgiveness, Allah will grant him relief, a way out, and sustenance from where he does not expect. Among the answered supplications is the supplication of Dhul-Nun: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." No distressed person has ever supplicated with it except that Allah relieved his distress.
