Moses' mother casting him into the sea was a revelation from Allah the Almighty, as He says: "When We inspired to your mother what was inspired, [saying], 'Cast him into the chest, and cast him into the sea; and let the sea throw him onto the bank, and an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.'"
