Does informing a sheikh about committing a sin (such as adultery or other sins) count as publicizing it?

Publicizing sins is another sin. It is obligatory for those who commit abominations to repent and conceal their actions, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever commits any of these abominations, let him conceal it with Allah's concealment, for whoever reveals his fault to us, we will apply the Book of Allah upon him." Therefore, it is not permissible to mention sins or talk about them. However, one can use euphemisms when asking about them.
