Is it permissible to shorten prayers in prison, and is eating meat of unknown slaughter permissible or forbidden?

A Muslim who is unjustly imprisoned prays qasr (shortened prayer) if his prison is at a qasr distance from his homeland, because he is unjustly detained. This is the view of the Hanbalis. He continues to shorten his prayers as long as the imprisonment persists, unless he is justly imprisoned, in which case he does not shorten them. As for the slaughtered animals of innovators, there is no harm in eating them as long as their innovation does not take them outside the fold of Islam.
