Can marijuana be considered like alcohol in terms of Sharia rulings and the punishments resulting from it, such as the non-acceptance of prayer for forty days, and do the punishments mentioned in the Prophetic hadiths specific to alcohol apply to it?

Marijuana is one of the derivatives of the Indian hemp plant, classified as a hallucinogenic substance causing relaxation, drowsiness, poor concentration, and imbalance. It is an intoxicant (khamr), and all its legal rulings apply to it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Every intoxicant is khamr, and every intoxicant is unlawful." He also said: "Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, a small quantity of it is unlawful." Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah clarified that the accursed intoxicating hashish is on par with other intoxicants, and its intoxicating part is unlawful by scholarly consensus. Everything that removes the intellect is forbidden to consume.
