The question

Is it permissible for a legally responsible individual (mukallaf) to share in the sacrifice (udhiyah) with his mother and unmarried sisters, which they own and raise, given that he is their provider? And is it permissible to include the deceased father in the same sacrifice? And is it permissible for a married nephew to include his mother and unmarried sisters with him in his sacrifice?

The answer

If the sacrificial animal is a sheep, a person is not permitted to share in it with his sisters as long as he does not live with them. It is permissible to include some deceased persons in the reward of the sacrifice. As for including sisters, it is permissible on condition that he spends on them and lives with them. As for the mother, if her maintenance is obligatory upon the sacrificer, it is permissible to include her in the sacrifice even if she does not live with him; otherwise, it is not permissible to include her unless she lives with him.
