What is the ruling on listening to "Taqq" or "Taqtaqa" songs that rely on drums and traditional instruments such as "plates and metal cans," and are they forbidden? What is the reason for their prohibition, and when are they permissible? And are drums and everything similar to them forbidden?

Striking the duff (a type of tambourine) is permissible for women during Eids and weddings. Other musical instruments and entertainments are forbidden. The drum (tabl) is among the forbidden musical instruments, and thus it is not permissible to use it on any occasion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the "kūbah," which is the drum. Consequently, songs accompanied by the drum are forbidden.
