To what extent is it true that the deeds of the limbs are a condition for the perfection of faith, and not a condition for its validity, and what is the status of the deeds of the limbs in relation to faith?

Faith is a statement and an action; it increases and decreases, and it is not valid without the combination of both. The actions of the limbs are a pillar and a part of faith; faith is not valid without them. The saying that the actions of the limbs are a condition for perfection is one of the reprehensible doctrines of the Murji’ah, and the Ash’aris and their like adopted it. Consensus confirms that faith is affirmation by the heart, acknowledgment by the tongue, and action by the limbs, and none of these is sufficient without the presence of the others. Whoever acknowledges monotheism but does not act upon it is an obstinate disbeliever, and whoever acts upon it outwardly but does not believe it inwardly is a hypocrite.
