Did the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wear a T-shirt and trousers?

It has not been established that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wore trousers (sirwal), but it has been established that he bought them and permitted their wearing. He used to command their wearing in opposition to the People of the Book. Some scholars have concluded that he did not wear them, while others have held that he bought them to wear them. Scholars have mentioned that he used to wear the izar (lower garment), the rida' (upper garment), the qamis (shirt), and the jubbah (cloak). As for the small qamis or pants in their current form, no scholar has mentioned that he wore them.
