Is it permissible to invoke blessings upon the angels due to their virtue and high status?

Sending blessings upon the angels by saying "peace and blessings be upon them" (عليهم الصلاة والسلام) or "peace be upon them" (عليهم السلام) is permissible, because they are honored servants whom Allah has favored above others, as stated in the Almighty's words: "Nay, but they are honored servants" (بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ), and "And indeed, [appointed] over you are guardians, noble in recording" (وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ), and "In the hands of scribes, noble and righteous" (بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ). Thus, they possess their [due] status, favor, and honor.
