The waiting period (iddah) for a widow ends for a pregnant woman when she delivers her entire pregnancy. For a non-pregnant woman, it is four months and ten days according to the lunar calendar. The month of death is completed to thirty days if the death occurred within it. If the husband died on the fifth of Jumada al-Ula, the iddah ends on the fifteenth of Ramadan if the month of death had thirty days, or on the sixteenth of Ramadan if it was incomplete. The wife exits the waiting period at the exact time of death, according to the majority of scholars, or at sunset of the last day, according to the Malikis, who do not count the day of death if the death occurred after dawn.
