If the hand is amputated, it entails half the blood money (diyya), which is fifty camels. If its strength is diminished or it heals defectively, then discretionary compensation (hukoomah) is determined by the judge. The aggressor is also responsible for the treatment costs. As for the one who initiated the verbal abuse, he must repent, and the judge will penalize him as he deems appropriate, but no financial compensation is mandated for him.
