Is the husband entitled to abstain and refrain from another pregnancy?

It is not permissible to use permanent contraception, due to its implications of severing progeny and nullifying the wisdom behind marriage. However, temporary contraception is permissible for an overriding benefit, such as a wife's illness. It is a condition that both spouses consent to it, because each of them has a right to offspring. Therefore, a husband does not have the right to practice 'azl (coitus interruptus) with his free wife except with her permission.
