Is it permissible for the husband to permanently prevent his wife from conceiving and having children due to their psychological and physical suffering from two previous pregnancies that ended in the death of both children?

Procreation is a shared right between spouses; neither has the right to prevent the other from it except with their consent. It is permissible to delay pregnancy for a valid reason or due to the wife's illness, but it is not permissible to prevent it permanently except out of necessity. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade coitus interruptus with a free woman unless she gave her permission, because she has a right to have children, and coitus interruptus harms her. Therefore, seeking the wife's permission is obligatory. Spouses must consult and agree on the matter of procreation. Temporary birth control is permissible to space out pregnancies if there is a legitimate need for it, provided that it does not cause harm and that the method used is permissible.
