Is the story of the Gharaniq an isolated (mursal) narration, and did it meet the conditions of Imam Al-Shafi'i for accepting mursal narrations?

The story of the Gharaniq is invalid because it is flawed due to being mursal (lacking a direct chain of transmission from a Companion), weak, and having unknown narrators, as well as due to discrepancies and oddities in its text, which are unfitting for the stature of prophethood. Thus, its weakness is not solely because it is mursal.
