How has Islam honored women?

Islam has honored women as human beings, as females, as daughters, as wives, and as mothers. Islam corrected the misconceptions about women and restored their dignity and status. Islam did not burden women with the responsibility of expelling Adam from Paradise; rather, it held Adam alone responsible. Among the manifestations of Islam's honoring of women is that she is the equal counterpart of man, equal to him in humanity, and possesses her civil and material rights. Islam commanded kindness towards her and forbade her killing, and made the best among people he who treats his family best, and preserved her dignity by forbidding harm to her in word or deed.
