What is the ruling regarding my not going to Friday prayer and Dhuhr prayer due to the mosque being far away and there being no suitable place, and my working at an advertising company where some of its clients sell prohibited items, knowing that I cannot find another job?
One must strive to attend the Friday prayer if the mosque is within city limits. It is not permissible to abandon the Dhuhr prayer due to the absence of a mosque or a prayer space at work. Abandoning the obligatory prayer is considered a grave major sin. It is impermissible to promote companies involved in alcohol and gambling, as this constitutes cooperation in sin, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: {And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.} (Quran 5:2). The money earned from such activities is unlawful. One must repent and practice piety, in compliance with His Almighty's saying: {And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.} (Quran 65:2-3) and His saying: {And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him ease in his matter.} (Quran 65:4).
