Is what the wife did, by using padding in her clothes to appear with certain physical attributes, considered deception and fraud that permits the husband to not desire her, especially given that the legitimate viewing (Ru’yah الشرعية) aims for the suitor to see what would encourage him to marry her?

The Shari'ah has permitted the suitor to look at the woman he intends to propose to, in order to ensure consent based on conviction and desire. This is supported by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Look at her, for it is more likely to engender affection between you two," and his saying: "When one of you proposes to a woman, if he can look at what will encourage him to marry her, then let him do so."

It is recommended to look at her, and it is permissible to repeat the looking with or without permission, or to send a woman to describe her to him. It is forbidden to deceive the suitor by presenting the woman in a way that conceals her true appearance, whether through cosmetics or other means, unless this is done out of oversight, good intention, or custom.

It is advisable to overlook past matters, forgive, assume the best, and seek excuses. If the wife is pleasing in her religion and character, that is better than any other qualities.
