Is it permissible for the analyst to take the excess samples in the laboratory or give them to those who deserve them, knowing that their remaining may lead to their spoilage and damage?

The responsible authorities should be content with a minimum number of samples for analysis, and return the remaining portion to its owner, after taking his information and specifying a date, place, and person for collection. If the owner of the sample does not appear and it perishes, it should be sold and its proceeds deposited into the Muslim treasury (Bayt al-Mal), or spent on the legitimate expenses of the treasury.
