Is maintaining kinship ties obligatory with a paternal uncle who tried to kill the father, slandered the sisters, and defamed the father, or is refraining from maintaining ties with him considered severing kinship ties?

Attempting to kill a close relative (dhū ar-raḥim al-maḥram) and slandering one's محارم (female relatives with whom marriage is forbidden) are among the most severe forms of breaking ties and heinous major sins. If these actions are proven, their perpetrator must be held accountable. The paternal uncle is one of the close relatives with whom ties must be maintained, and it is forbidden to sever them.
