What is the Dajjal, what is his trial, and how can one be saved from it?

The Antichrist (Dajjal) is a man blind in his right eye, with the word "K-F-R" (disbeliever) written between his eyes, which every Muslim will be able to read. He is a young man, red-complexioned, short, bow-legged, with curly hair, a broad forehead, and a wide chest. He is barren, unable to have children. He will emerge from the East, from Khorasan, from the Jewish quarter of Isfahan. He will travel throughout the entire earth except for Mecca, Medina, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Mount Tur Mosque, which are guarded by angels. He will be followed by Jews, Persians, Turks, women, and Bedouins. The trial of the Dajjal is the greatest trial since the creation of Adam, as he will claim divinity and perform great miracles such as causing rain to fall, extracting earth's treasures, and bringing a man back to life after killing him. He will have with him a paradise and a hell; his paradise will be his hell, and his hell will be his paradise. To be protected from his trial, one must adhere to Islam, seek refuge from him in prayer, memorize ten verses from Surat Al-Kahf and recite them, especially on Fridays, and flee from him and keep away from him when he appears. The Dajjal will be destroyed at the hands of Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), at the Gate of Lod in Palestine. His followers will scatter, and the believers will kill them until trees and stones speak out.
