Which Surah and verse indicate the descent of the Antichrist (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal)?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is no verse or surah that indicates the emergence of the Dajjal, but belief in him is obligatory due to the consecutively transmitted (mutawatir) hadiths that have been narrated concerning his emergence as one of the ten major signs preceding the Hour. Among the Ahl al-Sunnah, there is no difference between the obligation of believing in what is stated in the Qur'an and what is stated in the authentic Sunnah, because the Sunnah is an explanation of the Qur'an, and it is the speech of the infallible one who does not speak out of caprice. Among the hadiths reported in this regard is what Al-Bukhari transmitted: "No prophet was sent but that he warned his nation against the one-eyed Dajjal, the great liar. Indeed, he is one-eyed, and your Lord, the Exalted, is not one-eyed. And between his eyes is written 'Kafir' (disbeliever)."
