Why did every prophet and messenger warn their people against the Dajjal (Antichrist), even though he will appear at the End of Time, and not in their time?

The Dajjal is a great tribulation, and no tribulation greater than him will appear before the Hour. Messengers warned their peoples against him, for there was no prophet except that he warned his people against the one-eyed liar, and indeed your Lord is not one-eyed, [and the word] "disbeliever" is written between his eyes. The prophets did not associate this with mentioning the time of his appearance; rather, they warned against his tribulation and mentioned some of his characteristics. Noah's warning to his people about him has caused confusion, given that his appearance will occur after mentioned events and that Jesus will kill him after his descent. The answer is that the time of his emergence was hidden from Noah and those after him, so they warned their people against his tribulation without mentioning its time. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "If he emerges while I am among you, I will be his disputant," which is understood to mean before the time of his emergence became clear to him; then it was clarified to him afterwards. The prophets' warning their peoples about the Dajjal is a warning against tribulations and a reassurance concerning them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, bringing him close [in his descriptions] is an increase in warning, for if people are firm in faith, they will repel doubts with certainty.
