What is the ruling on intense fear of the major Signs of the Hour, especially the Dajjal, which leads a person to despair and a lack of feeling enjoyment?
The Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it, and the emergence of the Antichrist (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal) is one of its greatest trials. All prophets warned against him. A Muslim should use this as an incentive for good, not for frustration or despair, for despair is a characteristic of disbelievers and those who have gone astray. One should rely on Allah, trust in Him, be content with His decree, and beware of the whisperings of Satan. A Muslim should attend gatherings of knowledge and accompany the righteous to increase their faith. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, taught us to seek refuge with Allah from the trial of the Antichrist after the final Tashahhud, and to recite the opening verses of Surat Al-Kahf or memorize ten verses from its beginning to be protected from him.
