What is the reason for this intense fear, anxiety, and depression that has afflicted me after reading about the Signs of the Hour? Is this fear normal or does it require treatment? How can I live peacefully with the appearance of these signs? Is this fear for my children normal, or has it entered a dangerous realm, that of the knowledge of the unseen? Will I be held accountable for my shortcomings with my husband and children and my harsh treatment of them, even though this is beyond my control? How can I utilize this fear to work for the Hereafter without it disheartening me and negatively impacting my life?

Satan is keen to transform sound beliefs into sources of discouragement and frustration, and this is what happened to you, as you misunderstood the matter and exaggerated in dwelling on unjustified fears. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions were not afflicted by such fear despite their knowledge of the signs of the Hour. The purpose of knowing the signs of the Hour is to recognize their proximity and to prepare well for them by obeying Allah, following the example of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, having good character, and being patient. It should not result in despair or frustration. A devout Muslim obeys Allah, has good expectations of Him, is optimistic, and awaits good. He does not excessively fear lest he lose his present. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, despite his knowledge of the signs of the Hour, lived a life full of work and diligence, brimming with turning to Allah and having good expectations of Him, and believing in the vastness of His mercy. He used to save a year's provisions for his family, enjoy good food, joke with his companions, visit his neighbors, and live daily life normally. Make this knowledge beneficial to you, pushing you towards greater obedience to Allah and good character. Moderation and balance in affairs are the cause of all good. The one who is heedless of the Hereafter and the one who exaggerates in fearing it are both mistaken. The successful one is he whose fear drives him to good deeds and good expectations of Allah.
