Islam is a comprehensive religion that clarifies everything people need in their religious and worldly affairs. It guides Muslims to strive for all forms of strength—economically, militarily, and otherwise—to uphold the religion of Allah. Among the indicators of Islam's comprehensiveness and flexibility is that it does not restrict people to a specific system in economic and similar matters. Instead, it lays down general guidelines and leaves room for human intellect to exercise ijtihad (independent reasoning) in areas not prohibited by the Sharia. Islam encourages learning the details of sciences and the means of excellence from specialists and benefiting from the experiences of other nations, as Allah Almighty says: "So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know."
