Why did Allah Almighty say in Surat Al-Munafiqun: "And Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger," and not "And Allah bears witness that you are indeed His Messenger," so that it would be consistent with their saying "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah"?

The harmony in the verse between its beginning and end is evident in the repetition of the verb "to bear witness" (شهد), making the refutation of the hypocrites' statement equivalent to their declaration. The phrase: (And Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger) comes as an interjection to dispel any misconception that the phrase (And Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars) is a denial of the Prophet's message, as the hypocrites were spreading discord among the Muslims. And Allah, the Exalted, chose "He knows" (يعلم) instead of "He bears witness" (يشهد) to indicate that the hypocrites' affirmation of the Prophet's message was not based on true knowledge and belief.
