How is the estate of a deceased man, consisting of sums of money, real estate, agricultural land, and cars, distributed among his heirs, who are: his wife, eight males, and five females, bearing in mind that some of the real estate has unofficial papers and some of the cars were paid for by one of the heirs?

If the deceased passes away and leaves behind real estate, cars, and money, the inheritance is inventoried and distributed among the heirs according to each one's share. The wife inherits one-eighth of the inheritance due to the presence of children, as stated in the Almighty's saying: (But if you have children, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave). The remainder goes to the children (males and females), with the male receiving the share of two females, as stated in the Almighty's saying: (Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females). As for the amount paid by one of the heirs for the car, if he intended it as a donation, then the car belongs to the father and is included in the inheritance; otherwise, it belongs to the payer and is not included in the inheritance. It is advisable to consult the Sharia court to document the division of the inheritance.
