ما هو علاج التشدد في الدين؟

Islamic law has warned against extremism and fanaticism in religion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of extremism in religion, for it is extremism in religion that destroyed those who were before you." The truth lies in a middle path between extremism and negligence. Some are lax in religion and follow their desires, while others are extreme in their religious practice, making obligatory and forbidden that which Allah and His Messenger did not make obligatory or forbidden. The truth lies in following the prophetic Sunnah without excess or negligence. Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "The Sunnah, by Him besides whom there is no god, is between the extremist and the negligent, so be patient with it." This can only be achieved through sound religious knowledge from scholars, for through knowledge, truth is known and falsehood is avoided, and one understands when there is a concession and when there is strictness.
