What is the ruling of Islamic law on repeatedly performing the funeral prayer for a single deceased person by different groups at separate times, and what is the permissible duration for delaying the burial in this case?

Funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) is a communal obligation (fard kifaya), and it is recommended for people to gather for it and to hasten its performance. If one misses praying over the deceased in the mosque, it is permissible to pray over the grave. It is permissible to perform the funeral prayer after Fajr prayer until sunrise, and after Asr prayer until the sun inclines towards setting. However, it is not permissible during the narrow prohibited times: at sunrise until it has risen to the height of a spear, at zawal (midday) until the sun passes its zenith, and when the sun inclines towards setting until it sets.
